The 2016 UEFA European Championship winner is now on the verge of making history by scoring one more goal this season to occupy the first three spots on the European top scorers chart.

Ronaldo also have more chance to break his personal record of 17 goals from the 2013-14 season with four games to the end of this year’s edition of the championship.

His brace against Juve stretched his Champions League goal tally to 119 as he is the all-time leading scorer in the history of the competition, 19 ahead of his rival Messi.

With their 3-0 win over Massimiliano Allegri’s side last week, Los Blancos are edging closer to clinching their third successive UCL title, having become the first team ever to successfully defend it last season.

Real were forced to a 1-1 draw by their city rivals, Atletico at the Bernabeu on Sunday, and a day after, the manager, Zinedine Zidane watched the likes of Luka Modric, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale train in the rain for the meeting.

The Welshman, who has been tipped with a move away from the club was handed a starting shirt having sat all through their 3-0 triumph against Juve last Tuesday.

Bale impressed after being preferred to Karim Benzema by the manager and will be pushing for a place in the starting XI on Wednesday.

The former Spurs forward is said to be in contact with Manchester United over a possible summer move after complaints of lack of playing time at the Spanish capital.

But his agent Jonathan Barnett has rubbished the reports, saying Bale is 100 percent committed to remaining a Madrid player.
