Salah set to start in Liverpool's Champions League match against Man City

Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has hinted that he could be fit to start in their crucial Champions League quarter final second leg tie against Manchester City.

Salah who has scored 38 goals in 42 appearances this season, posted pictures of himself in training on social media, and added two football emojis to the post.

The Reds' top scorer picked up a suspected groin injury in the first leg and was absent in the Reds Mersyside Derby draw against Everton at Goodison Park.

However, the recent post suggests the Egyptian has regained full fitness and is good to start at the Etihad.

Salah arrived at the Lowry hotel in Manchester on Tuesday afternoon shortly after posting to social media.

The 25-year-old opened the scoring in the first leg, before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane scored a goal each that made it 3-0 inside the first half.

Jurgen Klopp's men held on to secure the win, but still have to finish the job at the Etihad on Tuesday night.

And despite the pressure surrounding the fixture, central defender Virgil van Dijk, has insisted he is not nervous.

"I’m never nervous.

"I’m just excited. I think, ‘Look where I am'.

Playing for the semi-finals of the Champions League with my team. Just enjoy it and love it.

"We’re 3-0 up in a massive game, our fans are going to be ready and it’s a great place to play. It’s a ­fantastic opportunity," the 26-year-old said.

With four matches to the end of the Premier League season Liverpool are expected to seal a spot in top four for Champions League action next season.

Salah recently won the PFA Player of the Month of March award for the fourth time this season making him a contender for the Premier League's MVP at the end of the season.
