- Federal ministries of information and culture briefed the Federal Executive Council on their activities

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday, April 11, presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC). The Federal Ministries of Information and Culture as well as Women Affairs briefed the council on their activities since November 2015 till date.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting of the council which started at about 11am at the council chamber of the Presidential Villa would also receive presentations from the Ministries of Defence and Transportation.
All heads of agencies under the Ministry of Information and Culture including the managing director of News Agency of Nigeria, Bayo Onanuga, were at the venue of the meeting to support the minister’s presentation.
The meeting was attended by the secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha and the national security adviser to the president, retired Maj-Gen Babagana Monguno.
Others in attendance were the chief of staff to the president, Malam Abba Kyari, cabinet ministers and some presidential aides.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has made 23 new appointments in agencies in the Federal Ministries of Health, Information and Culture, Education, Power, Works, and Housing, and Resident Electoral Commissioners in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Premium Times reports that the president urged them “to reinvigorate the agencies in the delivery on their mandates through a renewed commitment to transparency, accountability, and service delivery with integrity."
The approval also included appointment of some rectors to some federal polytechnics.
