- Spanish League giants Barcelona were bundled out of this year's UEFA Champions League by AS Roma on Wednesday, April 11
- The Catalan club claimed a 4-1 win over the Italian side, but a 3-0 win for Roma in the second leg sent them to the semi final on away goal rule
- And the manager has revealed that the Argentine forward is still unhappy about the outcome of the match
Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde says his starman Lionel Messi is yet to recover from their shocking Champions League ouster.
The Catalan club were thrashed 3-0 by AS Roma in the concluding part of their UEFA Champions League semifinal clash, having won the first leg 4-1 in the reverse fixture at Camp Nou a week before.
However, the result means the Italian side will be reaching the semifinal stage of the championship for the first time in their entire career and they will face Premier League side, Liverpool.
Valverde insists that the players are still unhappy over the outcome of the meeting, but said that they have got bounce back to winning ways in their next game in the league.
Barcelona are away to Valencia on Saturday, April 14, to continue their quest of winning this year’s Spanish League title ahead of their arch rivals, Real Madrid, who are closer to winning their third straight UCL title.
"Messi is like his team-mates," Valverde said.
"We are a bit sad and low but we have to face this challenge and want the ball moving again. That's how it is.
"Messi is one of the players who has won more Champions League's during his career. Winning the UCL is really difficult; only one team can win it, so it's very difficult.
"You cannot have a bad moment in this competition and that happened to us the other day."
Meanwhile, the La Liga outfit are unbeaten in the domestic league with seven games to go in the 2017-18 season.
They are currently at the summit of the league table with nine points ahead of second-placed team, Atletico Madrid after 31 rounds.
Barca have won five Champions League titles, while they remain one of the best teams in Spain with 29 La Liga titles.
