- The US, Britain and France carried out the joint raid following last week’s suspected use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, has denounced US President Donald Trump, British Prime Minister Theresa May and French President Emmanuel Macron, and branded them as “criminals”, following the joint missile strikes which the trio carried out against the Syrian regime on Saturday, April 14, Vanguard reports.
Khamenei made his comments during a meeting with high-ranking political and military figures.
NAIJ.com gathers that the supreme leader further claimed that President Trump lied when he said he ordered the strikes in order to fight against chemical weapons.
He stated: “The American president, the French president and the British prime minister are criminals, they will gain nothing from it.
“The American president says he attacked Syria to fight against chemical weapons; he is lying.”
The US, UK and France stated that they had carried out the air-launched missile strikes against the Bashar al-Assad Syrian regime as retaliation for last week’s suspected chemical weapons attack.
However, the Syrian government and its allies – Russia and Iran – have denied the allegations.
Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that United States President Donald Trump announced that he ordered a strike on Syria in response to last weekend’s chemical weapons attack.
Trump, while addressing the nation on Friday night, April 13, said the joint strike with France and the United Kingdom was underway.
