Alves wins 36th major title as PSG are crowned champions of France

Dani Alves won his 36th trophy as a footballer when Paris Saint Saint-Germain defeated Monaco 7-1 to clinch the French Ligue 1 title.

The Brazil international was on his 35th success after PSG's Coupe de la Ligue triumph over Monaco last month.

The evergreen 35-year-old now has won 36 trophies overtaking former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs and his compatriot Maxwell in the all-time list.

Alves started his career with local side Bahiain 2001 , winning the Copa do Nordeste in his second season.

After a move to Sevilla, Alves did not win anything in his first three years but in 2006, they won their first UEFA Cup, which they retained a year later, having won the UEFA Super Cup in between.

Sevilla added the Copa del Rey before beating Real Madrid to win the Spanish Super Cup in 2007.

The right-back defender netted in the final when Brazil defeated Argentina to lift his first international trophy as the Selecao won the Copa America.

Alves spent eight years with Barcelona when he joined them in 2008 and would significantly add to his trophy haul with La Blaugrana.

He won the Treble twice, as well as another Champions League medal, six La Liga titles, added four more Copa del Rey gongs and enjoyed four Spanish Super Cup triumphs.

In the continental stage for the Catalans, he won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup three times each. The same period he won the Confederations Cup twice with Brazil.

Alves won the domestic double when joined Juventus in 2016, and could have added another but for a defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
