- Newcastle United came from a goal down to beat Arsenal 2-1 in the encounter
On Sunday, April 15, Arsenal striker Pierre Aubameyang experienced one of his lowest moments on a football pitch when he was snubbed by Newcastle United star Matt Ritchie.
Aubameyang and his Gunners' teammates were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle United in a Premier League tie as Arsenal's hope of finishing among the top four this season suffered a set back.
But as Gabonese striker Aubameyang was leaving the pitch after the final whistle, he wanted to congratulate Matt Ritchie who scored the winning goal, but he was ignored.
Matt Ritchie who scored the winner for Newcastle United in the 68th minute ignored Aubameyang's greeting and instead embraced fellow goalscorer Ayoze Perez on St James' Park pitch.
Sheepishly, Aubameyang walked away, patted Ritchie on the back and made his way towards the tunnel.
The 2-1 result saw Newcastle nudge their way into the top 10 with a fourth win in a row that all but seals their Premier League safety.
