Premier League campaigners Liverpool have joined Spanish side Barcelona in the race to sign Sevilla central defender Clement Lenglet this summer.
Clement Lenglet's performances this season for Sevilla in the Spanish La Liga is said to have caught the attention of many clubs in Europe.
And according to the report by Diario AS, Liverpool will send their representatives to begin talks with Sevilla chiefs over the possibility of bringing the Frenchman to the Premier League.
Klopp has been linked to another central defender to pair up with record signing Virgil Van Dijk and the French U21 international is seen as a key target.
However, the Reds face still competition from the La Liga leaders who want to bring in Lenglet as a replacement for Samuel Umtiti who looks to be heading out the door at the Camp Nou.
Clement Lenglet began his career with Nancy making 85 appearances from his debut in 2013, and winning the Ligue 2 title in 2015–16. In January 2017, he joined Sevilla for a €5 million fee.
Lenglet made 34 appearances over the 2015–16 season as Nancy won the second-division title. He scored his first goal for the team on 29 January 2016, equalizing in a 3–1 home win over Clermont.
On 4 January 2017, Lenglet moved to Spain, signing a deal with La Liga side Sevilla FC until 2021. The transfer fee paid to Nancy was €5 million as he was brought in to replace compatriot Timothée Kolodziejczak.
He made his debut for the Andalusians eight days later in a 3–3 home draw with Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey (6–3 aggregate loss).
