3 Ghanaian teenage girls get into Harvard, Yale and MIT universities

- Three Ghanaian girls have impressivley gained admissions into three of the best universities in the United States

- Katia, Afia, and Isabelle have been admitted into Harvard, Yale and MIT respectively

- While Katia and Afia are from the Wesley Girls High School in Cape Coast, Isabelle is from the Ghana International School (GIS)

Three GhanaIan teenage girls have made themselves and their families proud after gaining admissions into three of the topmost universities in the United States (US).

The young ladies who were identified as Katia Maame Dufie Osei, Afia Sarpong Frimpong and Isabelle Quaye have been admitted into Harvard, Yale and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) respectively.

If you do not understand how impressive their achievement is, just note that only 4.59% for Harvard, 6.3% for Yale and 6.9% for MIT of applicants get admitted into these schools and that these girls scored higher than 99% of all SAT test takers across the world.

While Katia and Afia are products of the Wesley Girls High School (Wey Hey Hey) in Cape Coast, Isabelle is from the Ghana International School (GIS).

For Katia, who is just 17 years old, she perofrmed so well that apart from emerging as one of the 1,636 applicants out of 42,749 applicants who were admitted into Harvard University, she also got admissions from two other Ivy League schools - Columbia and the University of Pennsylvania.

Afia on the other hand emerged as one of only 2, 229 students out of the over 35,306 applicants, to be admitted into Yale. She also got an admission from Amherst College as well.

Isabelle, interested in engineering also performed so well that she got admissions from the California Institute Technology (CIT) which is the direct rival of MIT as well as the Princeton University, another one of the eight Ivy-league schools.

The three will be on full scholarships for the duration of their programmes which makes their admissions pleasing to hear.

Another interesting thing about the girls is the fact that they all prepared for the SAT at one place, AFEX Test Prep, an educational institute located in Accra and they indefatigably made Ghana proud.
