- Arsenal are considering a move for Daniele Rugani
- The Juventus defender is set to replace Shkordan Mustafi
- Wenger's side will play Atletico Madrid in the Europa League
Arsenal are seeking to land Juventus defender Daniele Rugani as replacement for Shkordan Mustafi who could leave at the end of the season.
According to reports in Italy the 23-year-old was tipped to become an Azzuri regular this year.
Leonardo Bonucci's departure to AC Milan also presented the opportunity from more playing time for the young defender.
However Medhi Benatia's incredible performances have seen Rugani fall down the pecking order and he is reportedly unhappy at his lack of minutes.
According to TransferMarketWEB Arsenal are prepared to offload Mustafi and could offer the youngster an escape route in the summer.
The German international has struggled this season, and came under fire following his performance in the 3-0 Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City.
Serie A side Inter Milan and his former club Valencia are among the clubs interested in his signature.
If Mustafi decides to leave the Gunners they will be hoping to tempt Rugani from Juventus to fill in the void.
The promising Italian defender won the Serie B Footballer of the Year award at the age of 19 while on loan at Empoli in 2014.
Arsenal are hoping to make it through the back door to qualify for next season's Champions League should they win the Europa League.
However they will be facing tough Spanish opponents Atletico Madrid in the semi finals next Thursday as they will be hoping to make their last hurdle into the finals.
