The Director Military Intelligence has invited the chairman Takum local government area, Taraba state, Shiba Tikari for an interview.
According to a statement sent to NAIJ.com by the director army public relations, Brigadier-General Texas Chukwu, the interview is slated for Friday, April 20.
“The interview is in connection with the security concerns where 3 suspects were arrested in Takum. The suspects are currently being investigated by the DMI,” the statement said.
Tikari recently faulted a statement by the army that two suspects, Danjuma America and Danasabe Gasama who were arrested in Takum were perpetrators of crises in the Takum and Ussa council areas of the state.
He accused the military of harassing people in troubled areas, said instead of going after their attackers, troops had been withdrawn from various checkpoints in the local government.
“We have told them the routes the attackers are using to attack us, but rather than go to these areas and arrest the armed Fulani militia attacking us, they have been busy harassing our people. As we speak, the Commanding Officer of the 93 Battalion Takum, Lt. Col. Ibrahim Gambari, has withdrawn all soldiers at various checkpoints in Takum LGA,” he told journalists.
