Premier League giants Chelsea have defeated Burnley 2 - 1 at the Turf Moor in an entertaining Premier League matchday 34 clash.
Chelsea who find themselves a whooping eight points behind fourth place Tottenham came into this clash with clearly visible intent of closing the gap between themselves and Spurs, little wonder they started with their two target men, Morata and Giroud.
And all it took for the scoreline to change in this clash was just twenty minutes as Kevin Long scored an unfortunate own goal after deflecting the ball into his own net from a Victor Moses cross to make the scoreline 0 - 1.
Alvaro Morata also came close to scoring in the 33rd minute but his efforts were spectacularly saved by Nick Pope.
A the end of the first 45 minutes the scoreline read Burnley 0 - 1 Chelsea.
At the start of the second half, Burnley provided an early scare that got the equaliser for them in the 66th minute as Johann Gudmundsson unleashed a strike and Ashley Barnes deflected the shot into the net with his body.
But all it took Chelsea to get the equaliser was five minutes as Emerson put a cross into the box in the 69th minutes and it found Victor Moses, who latched on to it and drilled the ball into the bottom right corner to make the scoreline 1 - 2 in favour of Chelsea.
And at the end of fulltime it was a 1 - 2 victory for Chelsea at the Turf Moor.
The victory leaves Chelsea still in the fifth position but it cuts the gap with Spurs to five points.
