Chelsea midfielder Marcos Alonso missed the match against Burnley but Alonso made the most of his enforced lay-off by enjoying a meal with friends at Zuma in Kensington.

The Spain international was given a three-match ban for violent conduct in the match against Southampton last weekend.

Alonso appeared to stand on the back of Shane Long's calf during last Saturday's Premier League meeting at Saint Mary's.

The 27-year-old will also miss Saturday's FA Cup semi final match against the Saints and will not be available for the Swansea fixture.

An FA statement read: "Marcos Alonso will miss Chelsea's next three matches after an Independent Regulatory Commission ruled he had committed an act of violent conduct against Southampton's Shane Long.

"Alonso denied the charge and further submitted that if found proven the suspension would be excessive, however, this was rejected following yesterday's hearing.

'The incident, which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video, occurred in the 43rd minute of Saturday's game."

Despite appearing to be in a good position to view the incident referee Mike Dean did not even give a free-kick.

Chelsea did not miss Alonso as they claimed a win at Turf Moore with Victor Moses having a hand in the first goal and scoring the winner.

The Blues' win eased the pressure on London rivals Arsenal by denting the Clarets' fight for sixth place.

Antonio Conte's side still have an outside chance of finishing on the Premier League top four with just four games left.

They have a last chance of winning a silverware in the domestic scene as they play Southampton in the semi finals at Wembley.
