Troops of 3 Battalion on operation Lafyiya Dole have successfully repelled Boko Haram terrorists attack at Ngamboru Ngala, Borno state.
This was disclosed in a statement on Friday, April 20, by Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, the director army public relations.
Chukwu said one Boko Haram terrorist was neutralized during the encounter while other members of the group fled following a superior fire power from the troops, unfortunately, one soldier lost his life during the attack.
Items recovered include, one rocket propelled gun 7 tube, one anti aircraft gun, 2 AK 47 Rifles and 2 empty magazines.
NAIJ.com previously reported that the Nigerian Army alerted members of the public to be wary of escaping members of Boko Haram finding their way into isolated communities.
The warning is coming at a time the terrorists has suffered heavy casualties due to the army's Operation Deep Punch II in the Sambisa forest.
The warning was issued in a statement sent to journalists by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman on Saturday, January 28.
