It's a moment of joy for the royal Kensington palace as the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton gave birth to her third child.
The Duchess who went into labor earlier morning April 23, was safely delivered of a baby boy at the St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London.
The baby is said to weigh 8lbs 7oz and both mother and child are in good state of health.
In a tweet from the Kensington palace official Twitter handle announced the news to the public.
They tweeted: "Before the royal wedding, there’s the royal baby: Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to a boy on Monday, Kensington Palace said in a statement.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101 hrs,” the palace said in a statement on Twitter. “The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
The palace said that Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, the duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and other members of the families had been informed that Catherine had given birth to her third child, and that they were “delighted with the news.”
