A former governor of Cross River state, Clement Ebri, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari would win elections in the state in the 2019 general elections, Independent reports.
Ebri said the state would work assiduously towards the president’s re-election in 2019, as he joined other dignitaries to witness the formal inauguration of the state office of the National Committee of Buhari Support Groups (NCBSG) in Calabar.
NAIJ.com gathers that Ebri, who is also an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for its national chairmanship position, pledged that the people of the state would join hands with stakeholders to ensure that in 2019, Buhari performs much better in the state than he did in 2015.
He insisted that the president has done so well for Cross River state and that the state has never had it so good before, under any administration. Hence, he said there is a need to work for Buhari’s reelection so the state could enjoy more benefits.
Ebri also pointed out that President Buhari has worked well to position Nigeria rightly so that all citizens could benefit from his government.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Senator Domingo Obende, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Edo state, expressed optimism that President Muhammadu Buhari will win the 2019 presidential elections even if the ruling party loses in 12 states.
When asked if the crisis in the APC would not affect the party’s success in the 2019 elections, Obende said: “If you go round the 24 states that the APC is controlling, they are all doing well. And if they are doing well, obviously the followers will ensure that the party wins at the polls. And when you take 24 out of 36, you have only 12 left.
“So if we fail in twelve states, we still would have won the presidential election.”
