- Manchester United co-chairman tells Jose Mourinho he is doing a good job at the club
- United are on course to finish second in the league and will play the FA Cup final
- The Red Devils will play against Arsenal in a Premier League fixture at Old Trafford
Manchester United co-chairman Joe Glazer has given coach Jose Mourinho the thumbs up for a job well done this season.
The Red Devils are on course for another Champions League qualification and will face Chelsea in the FA Cup final next month.
Glazer's message telling Mourinho how satisfied the billionaire family are will be a massive boost for the Portuguese.
The former Chelsea coach claims the club had lost its winning mentality before he arrived and that has been restored.
He told Sky Sports News: “I knew the club I was coming to.
“One thing is to go to a club that is prepared to win. I knew that was not the case, the owners knew that, the CEO knew that.
“So when I came to Manchester United, I knew it was not to have instant success. But in spite of it, three trophies and now another final. Not bad.”
Mourinho also revealed he did not want to sell Mohammed Salah to Roma during his second spell with Chelsea.
And the Portuguese claims he should get the credit for bringing Egyptian to the Premier League who has now hit 43 goals for Liverpool this season.
He said: “People say I sold Salah, it is the opposite. I bought Salah, Chelsea decided to sell him.”
Mourinho will be facing his rival Arsene Wenger when United play Arsenal at Old Trafford this weekend.
The Old Trafford outfit were knocked out of the Champions League quarter finals by Sevilla but will play Chelsea in the FA Cup final in May.
