- Iniesta has confirmed he will be leaving Barcelona when this season wraps up next month

- He has won a total of 31 major titles with the Spanish club with one FIFA World Cup with his Spanish national team

Barcelona superstar Andres Iniesta has announced he will be leaving the club at the end of this season.

The Spaniard disclosed this information during the team’s press conference ahead of his side’s Spanish League fixture against Deportivo La Coruna this weekend.

Iniesta will be joining Chinese Super League side Chongqing Dangdai Lifan after quitting the Camp Nou outfit this summer.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old, who has won a total of 31 major titles with the Camp Nou outfit said it was difficult to quit the club that gave him everything in football.

"This press conference is to make public the decision that this season is my last season here," he began.

"It's been a very tough but thoughtful decision. After 22 years here I know what it means to be a Barcelona player, the best team in the world for me.

"If I had imagined finishing my career here, it would have needed to have been this way: feeling useful, important and as a starter.

"It's a very difficult day for me because I've been here all my life and say to goodbye, it's complicated.

"I wouldn't forgive myself for living an uncomfortable situation here because I don't deserve it and neither do the club.

Iniesta is one of the products of Barcelona academy and he has appreciated the club both at the senior and junior level.

"I want to thank the club and La Masia for all they have given me because I am what I am in part because of them.

"I thank my colleagues, all the people that I worked with every day for all these years.

"They are the ones who make me better, as well as all the fans who have given me their love, my parents, my sister... 22 years ago we came in a car and today they are here with me again.

"I am here with the most wonderful person I have ever met in my life and who makes me happy every day, my wife.

"Together we have these three treasures [children] that is the most important of all. Thank you very much to everyone."

Iniesta won four Champions League titles, eight La Liga’s, six Copa Del Rey and seven Supercopa de Espana titles in his 16-year reign at the Camp Nou.

He also clinched three UEFA Super Super Cups and three FIFA Club World Cup titles with 57 goals from 669 appearances in all competitions for the club.

He has been an integral part of Barca's team this season, scoring in the 5-0 Copa del Rey final win over Sevilla.

The attacker had 125 caps for the Spainish national team and will be representing his country for the last time at the World Cup this summer.

He won the 2010 World Cup, Euro 2008 and Euro 2012 - on top of four Champions Leagues and eight La Liga titles - set to be nine - and multiple other trophies for Barcelona.

Barca, who have five games left before Iniesta leaves, will wrap up the Spanish title if they win Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday, April 29.
