Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly not interested in becoming the next Italian national team manager as the coach is said to have turned down the offers from the country’s FA.

The 58-year-old alongside Chelsea current boss Antonio Conte, and a couple other managers were shortlisted in a bid to find replacement for Gian Piero Ventura who was sacked last November for failing to qualify the Azzurri for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia this summer.

But the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss is hoping to take over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal as the Frenchman steps down from his position at the club at the end of this season.

According to an Italian news outlet, Corriere dello Sport, Ancelotti’s decision was motivated by his aim of landing one of the top jobs in Europe this summer.

With his decision to turn down the offer from his country, former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini becomes the favourite to take over from Ventura.

The former Real Madrid manager didn’t deny the fact he would jump at the chance to take over from Arsene Wenger this summer.

Other candidates that have been penciled down as Wenger’s replacements are Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri, and former Barcelona chief Luis Enrique.

But Ancelotti is said to be in the leading position to be hired by the north London club following his antecedents of winning the Champions League with AC Milan and Real Madrid, plus league titles with Chelsea, AC Milan, Paris St Germain and Bayern Munich.

When asked if he would take the Gunners job two weeks back, Ancelotti said: "I can say I would like to work again.

"But that depends on me. If I find the right possibility, the right project I would be delighted to continue."

Earlier this month, Legit.ng reported that Carlo Ancelotti was offered the job of becoming the new Italy boss amid speculation of managing Arsenal.

The ex-Real Madrid boss immediately became one of the most obvious people for Arsenal after Wenger announced last week he would finally be stepping down in the summer.

Ancelotti enjoyed league and Champions League success with Real Madrid and AC Milan during his spells in Spain and Italy respectively.

He also won league titles with Chelsea, PSG, and Bayern Munich as the Italian gaffer is set to continue from where he stopped in terms of success when he resumes his managerial career.
