NFF receive US$2m World Cup price advance from FIFA

- Nigeria have confirmed they have received US$2m from FIFA for their World Cup preparation

- The Nigeria Football Federation explained that the money will help the Super Eagles to have focus in Russia

- Super Eagles are in Group D at the Russia 2018 World Cup, and they will face Argentina, Croatia and Iceland

Nigeria's Super Eagles are now expected not to have financial crisis in their campaign at the 2018 FIFA World Cup which starts next month in Russia.

This comes after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that FIFA's decision to advance US$2 million in prize money will help the players to have focus.

The money is expected to help all the five African countries (Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt, Senegal and Tunisia) prepare well for the tournament.

In 2014, a bonus row disrupted the campaign of the Super Eagles at the World Cup in which former Sports minister Bolaji Abdullahi had to fly to Brazil with cash.

But NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire believes the availability of this money will help in their quest to avert a bonus row in Russia.

"We've had problems in the past and the NFF has already worked out a payment mode for the team, but this money will help put everything into shape.

"It will definitely help our players to focus solely on football on the pitch in Russia and not deal with the distraction of when the bonus will arrive." he told BBC Sports.

Meanwhile, Nigeria will campaign in Group D at the 2018 FIFA World Cup where they will face Argentina, Iceland and Croatia.

In history, Nigeria have never won the FIFA World Cup title, and Gernot Rohr and his boys will want to soar next month in Russia.
