- Two-time Premier League winner Thibaut Courtois plans to stay with the Blues until the end of contract next summer
- The 25-year-old is wanted by Real Madrid as a replacement for Keylor Navas at the end of this season
- He has one more season on his current contract with Chelsea and might not extend his stay with the west London club
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is reportedly planning to see out his contract at the Stamford Bridge before joining Real Madrid on a free transfer next year.
The Belgium international’s contract with the Blues expires next summer, and might not to extend his contract with the club.
Courtois, according to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, has informed the west London club he will stay until the summer of 2019 and then make a switch to Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will now consider whether sell the player this summer let him go for free at the end of the coming season.
The two-time Premier League winner joined the Blues in 2011 from Belgian topflight side, Genk and was immediately sent on loan to Atletico Madrid where he spent three seasons, 2011-2014.
While at the Spanish League side, he helped them to clinch the Europa League title in 2012 before returning to the Bridge three seasons back to displace Petr Cech as the Blues number one goalie.
Real Madrid have also expressed their interest in signing the goalkeeper since their efforts to land Manchester United’s David De Gea’s has not been fruitful.
However, with the Belgium international hoping to reunite with his family, who are in Spain, the current European champions seem the next destination for the keeper.
When asked by VTM Stadion in December, Courtois said: "I love my children to death. When you miss them, you are sometimes wondering – shouldn’t I play in Spain in the next few years?
"That’s why I want to take my time to make a decision on that contract extension."
Courtois has featured in over 150 matches for the FA Cup finalists, including 43 matches this season in all competitions.
He has won two Premier League titles in the last three seasons with one Football League Cup in the 2014–15 season.
While at Atletico Madrid, he won an Europa League title, one La Liga and a few other trophies for the Spanish side.
