Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard, has been confirmed as Rangers new boss.
Gerrard had previously admitted that he had held talks over the vacancy but he finally shook hands on a four-year contract today May 4.
And he was presented to the media with former Liverpool teammate Gary McAllister set to join him as No.2.
Before his recent appointment Gerrard had been working with Liverpool's academy in his first coaching position and has the blessing of first-team boss Jurgen Klopp to move north of the border.
Speaking in his presentation to the media, Gerrard said: “I am honoured to become the next manager of Rangers. I have enormous respect for this football club, and its history and tradition,"
“I can’t wait to start this new journey at Rangers as we look to build on the many successes that this club has achieved.”
Gerrard replaces Graeme Murty, who was sacked after the Old Firm humiliation, at Ibrox.
The veteran English midfielder will be tasked with closing the gap on Celtic as they target 10 top-flight titles in a row.
Gerrard has already put together a list of potential signings with former Liverpool team-mate Martin Skrtel one of his top targets.
It is understood Gerrard has been convinced that sufficient funds will be made available in order to give him the opportunity to battle with former boss Brendan Rodgers.
