Less than 24 hours to the primary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ado Ekiti, reports have it that gunmen attacked some aides to Dr Oluomo Oluwole Oluleye, one of the aspirants in Saturday governorship primaries in the state.
The Sun reports that one aide was shot, while the gunmen made away with money allegedly meant for delegates.
The news outlet also gathered that the incident occurred on Friday, May 4, in a bank in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Ekiti state, Muyiwa Coker, on Thursday, May 3, expressed displeasure at how he was wrongly disqualified despite giving the party the best supports he could in the past.
He alleged that some powerful people in the party were behind the plot to stop him. He said that the screening committee of the party made a mistake in disqualifying him from participating in the Saturday’s governorship primary of the party.
Coker, however, praised the appeal panel for upturning the verdict of the screening committee, led by former Bayelsa state governor, Timipre Sylva, saying his initial disqualification was a misguided action targeted at rubbishing him, Vanguard reports.
