Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer Davido has revealed that his next album will be released in September.
The DMW boss made this revelation while receiving his award as the Artiste of the Year at the 12th edition of Headies award which held in Lagos on Saturday, May 5.
In his thank you speech, Davido dedicated his award to his parents, daughters and lover Chioma. He also advised other Nigerian artists to help upcoming artists and the poor around them in order to succeed. According to him, he can't wake up everyday knowing that people around him need help and not do what he can to change their situation.
He revealed he is blessed due to his act and challenged other artistes to “lift others up” because that is his secret to success.
Omo Baba Olowo as he is popularly called won three awards – IF won the Best Pop Single and Song of the Year categories, and was also named the Artiste of the Year.
Other big winners of the night include Wizkid who won four awards - Headies Viewers Choice Award (Come Closer), Best Music Video (Come Closer), Best RnB/Pop Album (Sounds From the Other Side), and Best Collabo, for his feature in Tiwa Savage‘s Ma Lo.
Also Simi who won the Best RnB Single for Smile for Me, the Best Recording of the Year for Joromi, and her album – Simisola – won the Album of the Year.
