Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly agreed a stunning £80 million summer transfer deal to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Jose Mourinho is set to make the 23-year-old Serbian football star his first mega-signing after a reported breakthrough in talks last week.
Savic has been impressive this season for Lazio in the Italian Serie A scoring 13 goals, and his superb performances are said to have caught the attention of Jose Mourinho.
He is poised to become the second most expensive transfer into the Premier League after Paul Pogba’s £89 million arrival from Juventus two years ago.
Jose Mourinho has been looking for midfield reinforcements with an obvious lack of creativity in the middle of the park for United.
Milinković-Savić was born into a sporting family in Lleida, Catalonia where his father Nikola Milinković played football professionally at the time. His mother, Milana Savić was a professional basketball player.
The Lazio star is also the older brother of Vanja Milinković-Savić who a fellow footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for fellow Italian Serie A club Torino.
He came through the youth academy of Vojvodina and was one of the midfielders who emerged from the youth squad that won two consecutive national youth championship titles.
Savic has enjoyed three stunning seasons at Lazio after joining from Belgian side Genk with his form leading to Real Madrid tracking his progress.
