Nigerian women under the aegis of North West Movement for Buhari in 2019, in a meeting over the weekend endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for second term.
The women, including wives of governors and their deputies, said the president's achievement in the last three years is the reason they are endorsing him for another term, Vanguard reports.
The wife of Katsina state governor, Hajiya Hadiza Masari, announced the group's decision at an event in Katsina state on Sunday.
The wife of Katsina state deputy governor and chairperson of the local organizing committee of the event, Hajiya Mariya Yakubu, said women in Katsina and the North West had every reason to identify with APC political office holders in view of their commitment to improving the women’s wellbeing.
She said: "Without mincing words, Buhari has been doing a lot for Nigerians and North West women will remain grateful to him and others complementing his efforts.”
The minster of women affairs, Hajiya Aisha AIhasan, represented by the wife of former governor of Kogi state, Ambassador Aisha Abubakar Audu, hailed the turnout of women at the rally describing it as a clear demonstration of support to the APC-led government.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, May 6, received in audience Governor Rochas Okorochas of Imo state in his home town Daura, Katsina state.
President Buhari on Friday afternoon, May 4, travelled to the state after the weekly juma`at service at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
