It has been confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will be fit to play the Champions League final against Liverpool despite injuring his ankle in El Clasico.

The Real Madrid talisman was substituted at half-time in the Clasico clash with Barcelona prompting fears he could miss the showpiece in Kiev.

However, scan has revealed he only suffered a sprain and doctors have said the 33-year-old has no danger of missing out in the epic battle.

But Ronaldo will not be available in the next two matches against Sevilla and Celta Vigo before returning for the final La Liga clash of the season away to Villarreal.

Real Madrid could afford to rest him for the remainder of the season as they are almost destined they will finish third at the end of the season.

Atletico Madrid who are second on the table have a better head-to-head record and would need to drop points for Los Blancos to overtake them.

Ronaldo remains an integral part of Zinedine Zidane's side despite an array of talent at his disposal.

The ex-Manchester United star netted Madrid's first equalizer during the 2-2 draw at the Nou Camp.

The Portuguese star has scored 25 goals in 2018 helping his side reach a third-consecutive Champions League final after an underwhelming start to the campaign.

His strike against rivals Barca was his 25th La Liga goal of the season but he continues his impeccable record with 42 goals in 43 matches this season.

Ronaldo will be aiming to win his fourth Champions League trophy with the Galaticos and a third consecutive in five years helping them with 15 goals so far.
