Chelsea plan to sell Alvaro Morata to fund Cavani's signing this summer

- The Blues have concluded plans to sell underfiring Alvaro Morata once this season wraps up this month

- Morata has only scored 11 league goals all season long after joining from Real Madrid last year

- They intend to sign PSG striker Edinson Cavani who has scored 28 goals in the French league this term

Premier League campaigners Chelsea are reportedly planning to sign Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint Germain this summer.

The Blues have struggled in front of goal all season long as they have only managed to score 64 goals in 36 English topflight matches.

According to Daily Mail, Cavani’s deal might not see the light of the day should Morata’s deal to Juventus fail at the end of this season.

The same publication also revealed that the Spaniard’s representatives had reached an agreement with the Italian side, with the 25-year-old striker willing to take a pay cut to push through a deal.

Juve are said to have informed the former EPL champions they will not offer more than £60 million for the former Real Madrid forward, who has scored just 11 goals in the Premier League this term.

However, the Old Lady may attempt to make the deal happen as a two-year loan with a mandatory option to buy.

Another news outlet, Tuttosport claims that Chelsea are not going to rely on Juve before making a move for PSG forward.

Meanwhile, the Parisians will be willing to let the Uruguayan leave this summer in spite of him netting 28 goals in Ligue 1 — the highest total for both his club and in the division.

Though, earlier in the season, the 31-year-old had a row with the world’s most expensive player, Neymar, and PSG will be hoping to avoid such fallout again next season.

Meanwhile, they are planning to lure Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski as a perfect replacement for the striker.

Chelsea are confident Cavani will guarantee them goals in the coming season, but they will have to battle Atletico Madrid and Juventus over his signature.

The Uruguay international moved to the Parc Des Princes in the summer of 2013 and he has scored 116 goals in 165 appearances.

Before joining the Parisians, he spent three seasons at Italian side, Palermo and equally recorded 78 goals in 104 matches.

He won Copa Italia in 2012 and has also clinched four French Ligue 1 titles since he joined them five years ago, while the total number of trophies he has won since he got to the French club is 15.
