A former governor of Cross River state, who is aspiring to be elected as new national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Clement Ebri, has said that he is more qualified to lead the party to victory.
Daily Trust reports that Ebri, who spoke in a local radio interview, Hit FM, on the upcoming election of the APC national chairman, said it was wrong for people to canvass that President Muhammadu Buhari had already given his backing to a certain aspirant from Edo state.
NAIJ.com gathered that he said the party required a personality like him who had not been enmeshed in any crisis to bring aggrieved members on board.
He said he had already mobilised much interest in neighbouring Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa and other places to support his aspiration.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari met with the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors on Tuesday, April 24, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja behind closed doors between 8:30pm to 11pm.
