- The Frenchman praised Mourinho for his feat
- Pogba scored three goals and provided two assists
Paul Pogba has praised his Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho 'for believing in him' after picking up their player of the month award for April.
The France international beat Ander Herrera and Alexis Sanchez to scoop the prize for the second time this season, having won it back in August.
The 25-year-old has endured a critical few months at the start of the year after being axed from United's side following the row with Mourinho.
The Frenchman managed to change his fortunes around at Old Trafford recently scoring three times and providing two assists in the process.
The former Juventus star was quick to appreciate his manager's faith in him after being named player of the month.
"It's good that the manager believes in you, and the players. I would like to thank everybody that voted for me," Pogba told Premier League Productions.
The accolade came weeks after there has been misunderstanding in the Frenchman's relationship with the Portuguese coach.
The pair seemed at logger-heads after the United manager substituted him in the win at Bournemouth earlier in April.
Pogba has however has continually played down suggestions of tension between them and rubbished reports he would leave the club in the summer.
The United academy graduate insisted he is only focused on helping the club hit their goals for the season after securing their second place finish in the Premier League.
"The most important thing for me now is I would like to win the FA Cup. That would be great for everyone," he added.
United will be looking to end the season on a high when they take Chelsea in the FA Cup final next week.
The Red Devils were knocked out of the Champions League by Sevilla in the round of 16 losing 2-1 on aggregate.
Mourinho's men also lost the Premier League title to noisy neighbours Manchester City after losing to relegation-threatened West Bromwich Albion.
Their position in second place is guaranteed as they will be visiting West Ham in midweek and conclude the season at home to Watford.
