Dogara, Ganduje condole with late Isyaku Rabiu’s family

- Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara have expressed sadness over the death of Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu

- Rabiu, business mogul in Kano died on Tuesday, May 8, after a brief sickness in a hospital at the United Kingdom

- The governor prayed to Allah to grant his soul eternal rest while Dogara said Rabiu left a good legacy that will continue to be a source of inspiration to the family he left behind

Dogara, Ganduje mourn Isyaku Rabiu

Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje on Wednesday, May 9, said he received with shock the news of the death of foremost Kano businessman and Islamic scholar Sheikh Isyaka Rabiu, who died on Tuesday in London.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that governor Ganduje: “I received with shock, but total submission to the will of Allah, the death of Sheikh Isiyaka Rabiu, the leader of Tijjaniya sect in Africa.”

In the condolence message signed by the Commissioner for information, Malam Muhammad Garba, Ganduje, condoled with the family of the deceased and the entire Muslim community in Nigeria and beyond.

The governor prayed to Allah to grant his soul eternal rest. Rabiu died after a brief illness, in a London hospital at the age of 90.

Also, the speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has expressed sadness over the death of foremost Kano businessman and Islamic scholar, Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu.

Dogara said: “Late Khalifa Isiyaku Rabiu was, indeed, a great scholar, entrepreneur per excellence and inspiring philanthropist who impacted the lives of many through his uncommon benevolence, generosity and support to the less privileged members of the society.

“We have, indeed, lost a man of peace, a respected businessman, a great leader, father and mentor who spent greater part of his life in the service of God and humanity as an entrepreneur, cleric and leader of Tijjaniyya Movement in west Africa.

“We are, however, consoled by the fact that Khalifa left a good legacy that will continue to be a source of inspiration to the family he left behind as well as to his followers and admirers.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that a business mogul in Kano Isyaku Rabiu who was also an Islamic scholar, has died. Rabiu (90 year old) died on Tuesday, May 8, after a brief sickness in a hospital at the United Kingdom.

One of Rabiu's business associate, who was unnamed confirmed the sad development and reported that the deceased will be laid to rest according to Islamic rites immediately his remains are brought to Nigeria.

Isyaku was famous for founding a top conglomerate with a history of investment in manufacturing, insurance, banking and real estate.
