APC faction demands urgent meeting with President Buhari
- APC faction writes letter of complaint to the national chairman of the party, John Oyegun
- The group says none of its member was appointed into the federal executive council
- CNPP says the PDP has shown a good example to other political parties with the way it conducted its governorship primary election in Ekiti
A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has demanded an urgent meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari within seven days over some unresolved grievances.
The Cable reports that the faction comprises of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who defected to the APC in 2013.

The newspaper stated that the group wrote to the national chairman of the ruling party, John Oyegun to demand an urgent meeting with the president within seven days but did not state their next line of action.
The bloc, known then as the new PDP was reported to have helped in the defeat of the PDP in the 2015 general election.
The group, in a letter signed by Abubakar Kawu Baraje, former national chairman of the new PDP and Olagunsoye Oyinlola, its former national secretary on Wednesday, May 9, listed several grievances and demanded an emergency meeting.

Some of the grievances listed by new PDP are:
1. No member was appointed into the federal executive council, expect one who did not deliver his state in 2015
2. No “significant patronage” and appointments to executive positions in various government agencies
3. When members showed interest in running for the offices of senate president and speaker, they were opposed by the APC hierarchy.
Meanwhile, the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), on Wednesday, May 9, pleaded with member organisations to emulate the successful conduct showcased by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during its primary election in Ekiti state recently.
The CNPP said it was pleased with the openness and orderliness with which the PDP conducted its governorship primary in Ekiti state as it urged its members to not only emulate the exercise but improve on the level transparency.
