This Kenyan woman claims to be 128 years old

- The elderly woman only identified as cucu is reported to be the oldest woman in the world

- She is said to have danced for the late Kenyan President Jomo Kenyatta

- Besides having danced for the president, she is sad to be a freedom fighter

The elderly in our society come with an aura of wisdom, knowledge and rich history of the country.

Sadly many of these special gems have been abandoned by their families, others end up being taken to elderly homes because of the responsibilities they come with.

A woman who claimed to be 128-year-old was recently discovered in Kenya on Facebook. The post was seen by TUKO.co.ke.

According to Elizabeth Wangui who had visited the elderly woman, she sought ways in which she could help to better her life.

The woman she only identified as 'cucu' claimed had seen it all from the colonial days. Despite her age, the elderly woman who stays alone, is reported to be handling all her house chores on her own including cooking.

"This is God's favour she is 128-years-old, and is a great blessing to our country. I did meet her to know how I can assist. Am humbly saying that she cook's on her own and does all duties by herself . How painful to know she has no children," wrote Wangui.

Wangui also identified the old woman as a freedom fighter who danced for the first president of the republic, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

"She is a hero, a freedom fighter, our lovely late President Jomo Kenyatta's dancer, she is our grandma as Kenyan's, we are proud of her," said Wangui.

"Infact she deserves to be put in the world book of record since she is one of a kind at this time and era. She is indeed a heroine. We wish her a billion years," added Wangui.

Wangui has since received praises for her brave decision to take care of the old woman.

She comes in as the second oldest person in the country after Sarah Chepkirui who is said to 138 years.

A report by TUKO.co.ke indicated Chepkirui who hailed from Kipchimchim Ward, Kericho county, claimed she was born in 1880.
