Arsenal chief executive, Ivan Gazidis, reportedly want former Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta as a possible replacement for Arsene Wenger this summer.

MailOnline's Sami Mokbel, reports that Arteta is the "preferred choice" of both Gazidis and director Josh Kroenke, son of owner Stan Kroenke.

It is believed that the pair as well as other key figures at Arsenal want to bring in a "younger coach with a fresh approach," with Arteta and fellow former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira the top candidates if they commit to that idea.

However, Head of football relations Raul Sanllehi, shares different opinion as he is among those who would prefer Juventus manager Max Allegri as he is more experienced.

NAIJ.com previously reported that Frenchman Arsene Wenger has stated clearly that his successor at Arsenal must bring in fresh legs to the Emirates stadium for the Gunners to be able to compete for the Premier League title.
