Prince Dayo Adeyeye, a former governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has confirmed that he on Sunday night, May 13, paid a private visit to Ogun state Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Leadership reports.
Adeyeye said: ”Who told you that? Okay, Yes, I was in Abeokuta but it was a private visit. I will never join the APC. I have not decided on which party to join for now but definitely not APC.”
He was said to have discussed with the governor on the possibility of joining the APC and collapsing his structures for Kayode Fayemi who emerged as the flag bearer of APC last Saturday.
It was gathered that he decided to visit Amosun who is one of the power brokers in the APC on the possibility of a compensation if he assists the APC to victory in the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti state.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that barely 24 hours after losing the PDP governorship ticket in Ekiti state, Prince Dayo Adeyeye resigned from the party.
Adeyeye who came second in the PDP governorship primaries on Tuesday, May,8 after scoring 771 votes was beaten to the ticket by the incumbent deputy governor of the state, Prof Kolapo Olusola.
Adeyeye said he could not work with Governor Ayodele Fayose, because of the alleged imposition of his deputy as the party's candidate in the July 14 governorship election.
