Legit.ng gathers that Buhari said the federal government was not discouraged from setting development targets and “achieving more in three years than the 16 years of PDP’s misrule,” despite the dwindling oil prices that started in 2016.

The president said his administration is delivering on promises with “clear-cut targets and prudent management of resources” in a way that will bring an end to theft of government resources.

He said Nigerians understand the “unpleasant realities” his administration inherited; which is why they continue to support it.

He also added that "in spite of what the opposition keeps sponsoring in the press,” there is a genuine effort to re-position the economy.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, declared that the party would present a candidate that would defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.

Babatope, ex-minister of transportation, said that PDP would take its time to produce such a candidate.

He noted that the party will not care if the candidate is a political heavyweight or a light weight, but a candidate who will deliver the goods to the masses.
