Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has insisted that he has no plans to join Manchester City anytime soon.

The 30-year-old forward was sometime last year linked with a move to join the Premier League champions last season, but said that it was impossible for him to quit Barca.

Meanwhile, Messi claims he will only partner his countryman Sergio Aguero at the Camp Nou if they must play together in the same team.

Messi said: “I do not go to City. If it happens that I play with Kun it will be because he comes to me.

I have thought about other leagues – especially the league in England – but it is very difficult to leave Barcelona.

“Where will I be better than in Barcelona?

“I am at the best team in the world, living in one of the best cities, my family is well-off, and my children have their friends. I do not want to move.

The Argentina international made his senior debut for the Spanish League champions in 2004, and since then, there was no looking back for the forward.

He has scored 383 goals 417 matches for the Catalans – winning nine La Liga titles, three Champions League and several other domestic and continental cups in the process.

Previously, NAIJ.com reported that Lionel Messi insisted that he wants to retire at Barcelona as he has no plans to join any other club.

The 30-year-old led his side to a double in his 14th season at the club as their unbeaten run in the league was cut short by Levante in their 37th league game.

He is however expected to lead his national team's attack to the World Cup in Russia next month.
