Atletico Madrid chiefs want Antoine Griezmann to stay

- Atletico Madrid chief Gil Marin has explained that Antoine Griezmann will decide his future at the club

- The Frenchman has been seriously linked with a move to Manchester United and Barcelona

- He helped Atletico Madrid win the 2017/18 Europa League title on Wednesday night, May 16

Atletico Madrid chiefs have stated clearly that they want Frenchman Antoine Griezmann to stay at the Spanish club despite being linked with a move to Barcelona and Manchester United.

On Wednesday night, May 16, the France international scored twice as Atletico Madrid beat Marseille 3-0 to win the 2017/18 Europa League title.

Griezmann, 27, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Spanish giants in recent months, with Manchester United and Barcelona keen to land the striker.

Last season, Antoine Griezmann was on the verge of joining Manchester United, but he later chose to stay at the Spanish club.

Gil Marin says Griezmann should snub United and Barca this summer, however, the Atletico chief admits he has no idea where his star man’s future lies.

“If he wants to make history at Atletico Madrid where everything revolves around him, or go to a club where he will never enter history.

“If he decides that he does not want to continue with us, we have to respect his decision.

“I am not optimistic or pessimistic. I do not know what will happen, it is not a decision for him to say after the final,'' Atletico Madrid chief Gil Marin stated according to Express Uk.
