Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola owns a chain of successful ice cream parlours, with five branches in London and Milan.

Zola was inspired to start up his own shop while on holiday a few years ago because he helped his dad doing the business during his childhood.

The former Italy international revealed he once took a six-hour trip in a helicopter so he could get a second helping of a particular ice cream he had in Bologna a few days earlier.

Then because of his love for the creamy taste of the ice cream he later went back and bought 30 kilos of the stuff.

He told SunSport: “It was five years ago, me and a friend used to quite often go to Grand Cayman

“We saw that there was no decent ice cream out there, so we decided to open [a shop].

“It was very, very successful and with that in mind we decided to open one in England as well.”

After calling it quits with the Blues 15 years ago Zola makes a return to Stamford Bridge in honour of Ray Wilkins.
