- Alexandre Lacazette and Anthony Martial have both been left out of France 23 man squad for Russia 2018
- Martial failed to impress Jose Mourinho at Manchester United and was unable to get regular playing time at Old Trafford
- Lacazette on the hand was unable to guide Arsenal to the final of the Europa League which was won by Atletico Madrid
France have named their final 23 man squad for their campaign at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in which Manchester United striker Anthony Martial was snubbed.
Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette was also omitted from the final squad as Les Bleus face a tricky group that includes Australia, Denmark, and Peru.
Despite an injury-ravaged season, Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy made the final 23 man list as well as Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba according to UK Sun.
Martial and Lacazette appear to have paid the price for their inconsistent club form, with Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger failing to give either a lengthy run of starts.

He has been linked with a move to many clubs and the Frenchman is expected to leave Manchester United this summer.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Spanish giants Barcelona reportedly joined the race to sign Manchester United striker Anthony Martial at the end of the season.
At the just concluded season, Anthony Martial failed to hold down a starting line up at Old Trafford, and he wants to leave so as for him to get the chance of going to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
But unfortunately for him, he has been left out of France's final 23 man squad for the 2018 World Cup.
