Royal wedding: Queen decrees that Meghan Markle’s father will not receive coat of arms

Thomas Markle, father of Prince Harry’s soon-to-be bride, Meghan, has been dealt a major blow following news that he would not be attending the highly-publicized wedding.
According to Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth, Harry’s grandmother, has decreed that he will not be granted a coat of arms.
Thomas Markle had been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately; after news emerged that he had received money to pose for pictures which showed him getting ready for the big day. He subsequently disclosed that he would not be attending the wedding, citing heart surgery.

Legit.ng gathers that fathers of previous commoners who married into the Royal Family, including those of Kate Middleton and Sophie Rhys-Jones, were given their own coat of arms; so this is a major snub to Meghan’s dad.
The development was confirmed by a senior source at the College of Arms, which acts on behalf of the Crown in all matters of heraldry.
The source reportedly stated: “Mr Markle will not have his own coat of arms. We were told it would be too 'complicated'.
“The Palace has instructed us to use the example of the Duchess of Gloucester and give Meghan Markle her own coat of arms instead.”
The Duchess of Gloucester being referred to is Birgitte van Deurs, who married the Duke of Gloucester, a cousin of the Queen, in 1972.
The Queen’s decree means that Meghan Markle's outspoken relations will not be able to boast about having a ‘Markle coat of arms’; and this will no doubt hit them hard as Meghan’s half-sister , Samantha, who had bashed her constantly in public, previously publicly discussed the expected honour.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle invited a Nigerian woman among many other 'ordinary' members of the public, to their wedding.
Identified as Pamela Anomneze, the Nigerian-born Londoner was listed as one of the ‘1,200 favoured guests’ to attend the royal wedding scheduled for Saturday, May 19.
Pamela, who works at the Studio 306 Collective helping people with mental health problems, revealed she felt excited and overwhelmed to be one of the chosen guests.
