Two rival cult groups, Aiyee’ and ‘Bagger on Sunday, May 20, reportedly killed 15 people during the Imo Awka annual cultural celebration in Awka south local government area of Anambra state.
Leadership reports that the cult groups were said to have engaged in a fight in front of Isiagu Junction, Amikwo, Awka which led to the multiple deaths.
It was learnt that the lifeless bodies of the victims littered the state capital, eliciting tears from family members of victims.
Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is said to have taking over Amikwo and other villages searching for members of the cult groups.

Meanwhile, efforts to speak with SP Mohammed Haruna, the Police Public Relations Officer Anambra state command, was unsuccessful.
A police source in the office of the commissioner of police unofficially said the CP was worried over the development and had dispatched a crack team to sniff out the cause of the rampant killings and all those involved.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that thirteen residents of Jos killed in a clash by two rival cult groups, the Red Axe and Black Axe. According to information by residents of the affected area of the capital city of Plateau state in north-central Nigeria.
Terna Tyopev, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force (NPC), Plateau state command, confirmed the clash but did not give the casualty figure.
Tyopev also said one corpse was found under an overhead bridge, along the Goodluck Jonathan Way, at Gadabiu, Jos north local government area.
