- Anthony Martial has emerged as a summer transfer target for Tottenham
- The Frenchman is expected to leave Manchester United after being left out of France squad for 2018 World Cup
- Tottenham will face competition for his signing from Premier League rivals Chelsea
Premier League giants Tottenham have reportedly joined the race to sign unsettled Manchester United striker Anthony Martial this summer.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford after a disappointing campaign with the Red Devils as they finished the just concluded season trophy-less.
Anthony Martial did not also enjoy an active playing time at the out-gone Premier League season under Jose Mourinho and has been left out of France squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
He has been linked with a move to Chelsea, but according to the latest report by Irish Independent, Tottenham want him in their squad for next season.
The report added that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has identified the Frenchman as his number one target for next season.
Meanwhile, Tottenham's hopes of winning the race for Martial's signature could be boosted by the fact that Manchester United are interested in defender Toby Alderweireld.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how FA Cup champions Chelsea have reportedly made out-of-favor Manchester United winger Anthony Martial one of their major targets this summer.
The 22-year-old started the Red Devils’ 1-0 defeat to the Stamford Bridge side on the bench, having struggled to keep his spot in Jose Mourinho's side this season.
Following his lack of playing time at Old Trafford this season, the French forward has been excluded from the France team to Russia for this year’s FIFA World Cup.
