Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state has reportedly chosen his chief of staff, Tolu Odebiyi, for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in the 2019 elections.
The New Telegraph reports that the governor is expected to formally announce his choice after the conduct of the APC national convention in Abuja.
The newspaper stated that the governor chose his aide at a marathon meeting held at the weekend where issue of new state executive of the party was also finalized.
Sources who attended the meeting confirmed that the governor narrowed down to his chief of staff, who hails from Ogun west senatorial district, after considering several factors about all the aspirants.

Meanwhile, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and nine others have sued the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, over the conduct of ward and local government congresses of the party in Bauchi state.
The Nation reports that the plaintiffs claimed that the conduct of the congresses was in breach of the APC Constitution and congress guidelines.
NAIJ.com gathered that they asked the court to halt the state congress holding today, May 19, in their state on account of the pending suit.
It was learnt that the action might be the last battle Dogara will fight in APC before defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party.
