Outgoing Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta stayed behind at the Nou Camp until the early hours following his farewell for the Catalan club.
The Spanish international played his last game for the club in the 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad on Sunday at the Nou Camp.
The 34-year-old who has played over 600 matches in 22 years at the club, held back tears as he made his way off the pitch late on as the fans gave him a standing ovation.
Iniesta was later given a guard of honour by the entire team and addressed the crowd after the match as the emotional farewell ceremony continued.
Iniesta stayed behind on the pitch that he has graced for so many years as his teammates and supporters made their way home.
The 34-year-old was pictured sitting down, barefooted, in the Nou Camp centre circle of the 90,000 capacity in Camp Nou.
Reports claimed Iniesta have been out on the pitch until around 1am as he reflected on his stellar career.
Unsurprisingly, the Spanish media have led on Iniesta's emotional farewell as he now looks set to complete a move to China or the Japanense League.
Speaking to the crowd after the game, Iniesta said: "It's been a wonderful 22 years, full of pride, and it's been a pleasure to represent this club
"I will move on and carry you all in my heart forever.
"I thank you for all the love and respect that you've given me since I arrived as a child, I now leave as a man."
Iniesta won four Champions League titles, eight La Liga’s, six Copa Del Rey and seven Supercopa de Espana titles in his 16-year reign at the Camp Nou.
He also clinched three UEFA Super Super Cups and three FIFA Club World Cup titles with 57 goals from 669 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Iniesta scored the goal that won the World Cup for Spain against the Netherlands in the 2010 edition held in South Africa.
