In a power ranking report released by the The Guardian of London, the Super Eagles have been rated the 10th best nation that will win the World Cup.
Gernot Rohr's men were chosen by pundits who picked the Green and White ahead of every other African team that will play in Russia.
Brazil, Germany, Spain, France, and Belgium were the top five teams while Argentina, Poland, and Mexico are the remaining four teams in top nine.
The Guardian blog on football said Premier League stars including Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Moses, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Alex Iwobi can make the difference for the team with the quality they possess.
The report also claimed the German coach over the space of a few years in charge has moulded a balanced and organized Nigerian side which can be lethal on the counter attack.
Nigeria will play in Group D alongside Argentina, Croatia, and Iceland when the world's football showpiece begin next month.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Atletico Madrid landed in Uyo to honour the friendly match with the second string Super Eagles side.
Also, Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi also arrived Uyo to join his teammates in preparation for the Democratic Republic of Congo pre-World Cup friendly on May, 25, in Port Harcourt.
The three-time African champions played pre-tournament matches against Poland and Serbia in April which they won and lost respectively.
The World Cup bound team will also play England on June, 2, at the Wembley stadium then take on the Czech Republic four days later.
