- Toure reveals he could join Manchester United in the summer
- The Ivorian has confirmed who would leave City after eight years
- The 35-year-old says he believes he could be of help to Pogba
Outgoing Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has refused to rule out a sensational switch to rivals Manchester United.
And the 35-year-old wants to teach United midfielder Paul Pogba how to become a Premier League great.
Toure who is a free agent after finishing the season with City, told the MEN: "Yeah, he just left. We'll see, we'll see.
"I don’t rule big teams out. The big teams are very important for me. What they want to achieve, the way they want to go, for me is very important.
“It’s going to be hard one day to play against City, but I have to do that. It is part of my job."
The Ivorian won three Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup in his eight years at the Etihad.
And Toure wants to continue playing for another two years at the highest level and competing in Europe.
The former Barcelona star admits he has a thing or two he could teach the under-fire Pogba get to his best.
He added: "Pogba - it’s difficult because of the way the media has treated him. We don’t have the same characteristics because for me I was involved in all the ball, I ran everywhere.
"Pogba is the same size, power - but different in the way he wants to go. Technically as well, the ability to score goals as well. It is a player I want to play with, to be honest, just to teach him some things."
When asked that it sounds like United will be his next move, he laughed: "No, no, no, no. The fans are going to kill me!"
Pep Guardiola insists Toure can continue playing in the Premier League next season.
He said: "Yeah, he can.
"Hopefully he can stay in football and come back maybe here one day.
"He likes the game and he enjoys the training sessions, especially with the ball.
"My advice, if he still has desire to play, he has to continue. If you have doubt, you have to retire, it is over."
City won the league with a record-breaking 100 points and scored a total of 106 goals in the process.
All through the season Giardiola's side only lost two matches to Liverpool and Manchester United but drew four matches in 38 games.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that the Ivorian legend will be leaving the Etihad after spending six years at the club.
