Senator Jibril Bello Gada who spoke about 2019 general elections declared that he will contest for the governorship position of Sokoto state under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Leadership reports that Senator Gada noted that he has a four-point agenda that can bring back the state to the path of greatness. He added that he remains a tested and trusted leader.
He promised that if he is elected governor by the people of the state, his four point targets will be to revive agriculture, education, facilitate local government reform and above all, encourage youths and sports development.
Gada, who insisted that he is not seeking political office because of any personal gain, added that he is contented as the Sarkin Noma (King of Farmers) in the state because he is into large scale farming.
Gada said zoning is not constitutional, adding that it is simply a gentleman’s arrangement by a party or political group to avoid friction.

He said as far as Sokoto was concerned, anybody from any of the senatorial districts could contest the 2019 governorship election against Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the Abuja Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal case filed by Senator Umaru Dahiru, challenging the emergence of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal as governor of Sokoto state.
The court had reserved judgment in the suit filed on account of, “non-compliance with laws in the conduct of the primary election” that produced Tambuwal in 2014 as the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress.”
The appeal was filed by Umaru Dahiru and Aliyu Sanyinna, aspirants in the December 4, 2014, APC governorship primary election.
