Court sentences 24-year-old woman to 15 years in jail for defiling 16-year-old boy

- According to the accused, the boy was a drug addict by the time they met, and she did not know that he was a minor
A local court in Kenya has sentenced a 24-year-old lady, Judith Wandera, to jail for 15 years, after finding her guilty of defiling a 16-year-old boy.
According to Punch, quoting Standard Media, the prosecution lined up various witnesses who all accused Wandera of defiling the minor on various dates.
Legit.ng gathers that the court was informed by a prosecutor, Nyakundi Mukaya, that the intimate affair between the woman and the teenager was confirmed by medical evidence from a specimen collected from the duo.
He said before he was rescued by police officers, the minor dropped out of school and moved in with the accused, as a result of the affair. According to the prosecutor, the boy had been living with the accused for more than four months.

Mukaya stated: “The boy was rescued on July 7, 2017, and the accused was arrested by police officers."
He added that after the rescue, the boy was taken to a correctional facility before being released back to his parents.
The boy’s parents also testified before the court. They disclosed that after meeting the woman, their son stopped taking school seriously. They further added that after the boy started living with Wandera, they sought the intervention of the police.
In her defense however, Wandera said the boy was a drug addict by the time they met, and that she did not know that he was a minor.
She said: “We met at a drinking joint one evening of April 2016 in Kondele where he even offered to buy me drinks. We exchanged phone contacts and started dating.”
According to Wandera, the boy only appeared “young when he came to testify”, and she could not establish his age because he was also a boda boda operator (commercial motorcycle rider).
In her words: “He had dreadlocks when we met, and only appeared young after his dreadlocks were shaved before he was brought to court to testify.”

Investigations revealed that Ewuzie texted her later that day, asking her to come to his room, where he had sex with her.
