There is a common belief among Nigerians that there are green pastures outside Nigeria, which means people live easy lives outside Nigeria, they get jobs and make enough money to cater for themselves.
A Nigerian man has confirmed that belief after he shared a post about a friend who recently moved to Canada. The man identified as Deji Aderogba recounted the story of how his friend became happy living in Canada.
According to Aderogba, his friend called him a week after he left Nigeria for Canada and started crying. He asked him why he was crying and his friend stated that he had wasted 25 years of his life in Nigeria.
He said: "A friend of mine just left Nigeria for Canada last week. Just got off the phone with him & I was surprised when man started crying & I asked why he was doing that & he said “I feel like I wasted 25 years of my life in Nigeria. Oh Nigeria, what have we done to deserve all these?"
Aderogba further stated that he wishes Nigeria would become better for all Nigerians in the future. He added that it seems that Nigerians living in Nigeria are not enjoying their lives.
He said: "Let me say this in pidgin “If you never reach another man’s farm, you no go know say person farm big pass your own. Hopefully, Nigeria will be a better country for us all but really, seems we aren’t enjoying anything in this Nation."
